Dear FUMC Heath Family and Friends,
We chose not to be afraid, but to trust in the Lord. We also want to be wise in the health and safety of our congregation and community, and to help slow the spread of the Coronavirus.
At the direction of the Bishop of the North Texas Conference and in consultation with our Church Board, worship services are cancelled for Sunday, March 15 and Sunday, March 22. All activities, including Lil’ Voyagers, Bible studies, Wednesday night activities, choir practice, Boy Scouts, yoga, etc. will also be canceled until further notice.
In addition to the services and activities listed above, the church offices will also be closed, but our staff will be working remotely. If you have an office need please call Kerri Bergerhouse at (214) 697-8014. If you have a pastoral need please call me at (479) 856-4775. Because many hospitals and care facilities are limiting visitors, all pastoral care needs will be done by phone.
The earliest church met and worshiped in homes, and so our staff has been putting together a plan to do just that during this time. Soon we’ll post, in the red buttoned areas above, a brief order of worship you can do in your homes; maybe with your neighbors, a few friends, others in your Sunday School class, etc. It will include Scripture, prayers, and a brief recorded homily. Abie is also putting together a brief Trackers lesson for kids.

We know this is a strange and difficult time. We pray for the Holy Spirit to bring protection, for those who are sick and in isolation, for health-care workers, doctors, and scientists trying to figure this out… and we pray to renounce fear. We recall the prayer of Psalms 46: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea.”
